Targeted Genome Sequencing (TGS) is an efficient and targeted approach to genome sequencing. Compared with whole genome sequencing, targeted genome sequencing focuses on sequencing specific gene regions or genomic segments of interest, thus reducing the required sequencing depth and data volume, and enabling faster and more cost-effective acquisition of sequence information of target genes.
