November 7th, 2023 - At the end of 2023, Axbio's core research team, published a study titled "Unraveling the Salt Tolerance of Phi29 DNA Polymerase Using a Compartmentalized Self-Replication and Microfluidics Platform1." in the Frontiers in Microbiology journal.
In this study, Axbio's researchers established a high-throughput screening system for enhancing DNA polymerase salt tolerance, achieving a screening throughput of approximately 10⁶ mutants. By integrating a microfluidics platform, they further improved droplet consistency and reaction uniformity in the high-salt screening system. Ultimately, this approach led to the discovery of a Phi29 DNA polymerase variant with significantly enhanced salt tolerance.
This research represents a major advancement in the field of DNA polymerase engineering, providing new strategies for optimizing enzymes used in nanopore sequencing and other applications.
Stay tuned for more updates from Axbio's cutting-edge research team!
